Elon Musk asked if he “can make a lot of money with Dogecoin” in a meme starring Hollywood actor Keanu Reeves and a spin on one of the Matrix movie’s dialogues.
Musk is credited for pushing down the price of Dogecoin after referring to it as a “hustle” during an appearance on Saturday Night Live in May. Since then, the value of Dogecoin has decreased by 65 percent.
Elon Musk, the CEO of SpaceX and Tesla, has sent out another letter to Dogecoin supporters, claiming that the canine-faced joke currency “is money” in an attempt to promote his favorite cryptocurrency.
Musk shared a meme featuring Hollywood actor Keanu Reeves and a twist on one of the dialogues of Matrix movie asking if he “can make a lot of money with Dogecoin”. To which the response is that “Dogecoin is money”.
The price of Dogecoin apparently rose 20 cents after Musk’s post, but shortly plummeted again.
Earlier in 2021, Musk sparked widespread interest in Dogecoin with a series of tweets on the cryptocurrency, which was founded in 2013 as a “joke token.”
Musk also said that SpaceX will launch the “DOGE-1 Mission to the Moon” in the first quarter of 2022, with the meme-inspired cryptocurrency Dogecoin being accepted as payment.
